Programs

Universities play a crucial role in resilient communities. The/La Collaborative’s pan-Canadian cross-sectoral network leverages experiential learning activities around collaborations that build capacity for innovation in the social sector.

The/La Collaborative offers several programs that support capacity building for innovation in the public and social sector.

The key to innovation in any sector is connectivity. To innovate, new ideas need to flow, and ideas can only flow when people and organisations are equipped to learn and exchange knowledge.

Our programs aim to create literacy around the skills needed for innovation, collaboration and knowledge mobilization inside and outside of academia, and to build the capacity of emerging researchers through training and experiential learning for these skills.

Skills Articulation and Literacy Tool (SALT) – Participants build the literacy to recognize the foundational social and emotional skills they have, develop strategies to articulate them effectively in a variety of contexts and identify the next skill to cultivate in building their professional capacity.

Advanced Skills for Impact (ASI) – Advanced students and emerging researchers develop the core skills to work effectively in collaborative settings and access experiential learning opportunities as part of pan-Canadian cohorts.

Innovation for Social Impact (ISI) – Institutions and researchers receive support from The/La Collaborative and its network to develop community partnerships and implement open access resources to build course-based co-learning environment in which students and community organization leaders and staff acquire new knowledge and skills to increase their shared capacity for innovation and impact.
